Women's Empowering Personal Development: An enemy of time - Conquer Procrastination

A year from now you may wish you had started today. ~Karen Lamb

You've dreamed of good success. You've longed for a better life,
your best life. What's hindering you?

Yes, we must have the proper mindset. Yes, we must have confidence and
embrace fearless living. We even need passion with action.

There is one thing, one thing very detrimental to the manifestation of
our dreams and that is procrastination.

Procrastination: Procrastination is a behavior which is characterized by
deferment of actions or tasks to a later time. Psychologists often cite procrastination as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with
starting or completing any task or decision. [1] Psychology researchers also
have three criteria they use to categorize procrastination. For a behavior to
be classified as procrastination, it must be counterproductive, needless, and delaying. Wikipedia

There are steps that can be taken to identify the origination of this behavior.

One thing that feeds procrastination is fear.

As we move through this 21 day challenge, you will discover ways to conquer
fear and anxiety. You will also learn ways to overcome procrastination. Most of
all you will learn how to apply this to your life.

None of this will manifest the desired results you want unless you take action!

Begin to discover ways to eliminate the enemy of time. It has stolen years,
dreams, relationships and caused many disappointments. The time is now!

Empowerment is a choice! It's up to you to take back your personal power and
realize your dreams come true and the best of you.

This is one of the problems I face. I do find that as I take steps to "just do it", it makes me procrastinate less. The 5 steps have been a tremendous help!

Procrastination eats up so much of our time for sure. I agree with the 3 characteristics - they say it all: counterproductive, needless, and delaying. Wow - how true!! For me, procrastination comes, not so much out of fear, but when I have lost hope, or I'm discouraged with the progress for something.

Telling myself to "just do it" doesn't really work. I need to get re-motivated. Sometimes we have to recapture the reason why we began a project in the first place - rekindle the passion we had in the beginning.

Other times, we have to get up and do it just because it's the right thing to do, but it sure helps to be motivated!

Well, this certainly was a help to me. I realize, that I don't have a lot of extra time, but I have to use my time to achieve the maximum.

Everyday I face challenges and problems. But I determine to get into the realm of 'success' and so I realize that I must set myself to move forward in order to win.

I am a wonderful starter/beginner, my problem is finishing what I start.
I tend to start off with a bang then something (procrastination) sets in and then I drag and never finish or it will take a very long time for me to finish. It's like I lose motivation.

Robin, I started reading your blog posts from newest to older and the thing that I have found to be amazing is that while I am reading one post, it reminds me of a topic I would like to read about and what do you know? The very next post is about it! I was reading one post about fear and I was thinking about "change" and your next post was about change and while I was reading that I was thinking about "Procrastination" and BAM the next post was about that. ALl of your blog topics are about things that just about all women have trouble with or need help with. I sometimes think of calling myself the procrastination queen! I have found though that instead of looking at the entire task at hand, to just do one teeny tiny part of it. When I do that, I realize how much better I feel and how it wasn't so bad. Then it becomes easier to work on everyday when I see that the benefits greatly outweigh the fears! Thanks for all the insightful information!
