Empowering teens: Seasons change: Congratulations to our son on his graduation!

This is a picture taken at his school after the party. He went to
Consumes Oaks which only went to 11th grade and their colors included
royal blue. He graduated with the sister school that was full when we
arrived which was Franklin High School and their robe was purple.
So he'll have pictures in a purple robe. Ironically purple is his
sister's favorite color and royal blue is mine.
Isn't he handsome?

He did it! Our baby son graduated this past Wednesday, May 26.
Today I'm going to share a little bit about our son and the empowerment
that comes to teens through challenges of life and parents who are there.

What an occasion. We were very proud parents as we watched our son who
has gone through some very challenging times. We never expected to
see any of our children experience what he has experienced while
going through the educational system.

Our son was diagnosed with high functioning autism when he was about
9 years old. Yes, we know that it's possible to discover this sooner,
however, we had never heard of it. I was the Director of Education
and one of my teachers came to me and said Mrs. Tramble I have something
to share with you and I hope it's alright. I said sure go ahead what is
it. She went on to tell me that she worked with children with autism and
actually her nephew had it. Okay, I still didn't know what it meant.
She went on to say that my son had similar habits and actions that resembled
children with autism. I thanked her and promised that we would look into it.
Well, the journey begin from there. We read books talked with doctors who had
diagnosed him with adhd. They had previously prescribed Ritalin which
I immediately had him taken off of because he was hallucinating and other things.

Long story short my little one made a great accomplishment graduating.
Both his Father and I had eyes full of tears as we watched him walk with
the class of 2010 during the processional.

At the end of the night he said "I liked the graduation." This was music to our
eyes as we didn't know how he felt and was experiencing as he went through
the ceremony filled with cheers, rumbling, screams and more.

We have three other children older than him who all graduated and
are successful within their own rights.

I posted a tweet and update about the fact that we empower our teens when
we give them our undivided attention when they request it and not according
to our schedules. We learned this most with our baby son as he required our
attention at times that may not have been the most convenient but required
by him and I'm sure this empowered him and boosted his confidence and self esteem.

Seasons change and now begins the season of adult hood. Are we anxious about it?
At times it tries to visit us, however, we know as Christians we are encouraged
to "Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known!"

We are blessed as it could be more severe and our prayers go out to those
who happen to be experiencing a more sever case. They all are special and
every parent loves them to life!

A very special thank you to his siblings, family, friends and educators
who played a role in his achieving this milestone. Thank you Mrs. Trina
for coordinating his safe participation. He was a very handsome young man
as always but on this occasion in particular.

Congratulations to our dear son!! God will lead you on.

Love ,

Mom and Dad

A Woman Entrepreneur's self worth is critical to authentic life empowerment

One key area in your life that will affect every other area whether it's personal, spiritual or business life is how you see yourself.
It's important that you take inventory of how you feel about your self worth.

Take inventory of how you feel about your self worth

When you look at others how do you feel? Have you attached your self worth to your bank balance? Your self worth is about you, the person you are in life. We give others respect, love and consideration but how often do we give ourselves what is due? What we're talking about here is self esteem. How you value yourself is based on the self-esteem you have, your self-esteem shows you how much you truly value yourself. Healthy self-esteem leads to independence, happiness, flexibility, the ability to adapt easily to change, co-operation and a positive outlook on any situation. Healthy self esteem fuels your delicious life. Unhealthy or low self-esteem on the other hand leads only to irrational thoughts, unhappiness, fear of the new, defensiveness and a negative outlook on life in general.

Believe it or not how we see ourselves has a lot to do with how others see us, if we are happy, smiling and full of confidence then others see us as someone they want to be around, if we respect ourselves and portray this then others will respect you too, after all how can you ask for respect from others if you don’t even respect yourself? So finding and developing your self-worth is all about developing your self-esteem, so let’s take a look at esteem

Tips on developing your self worth
Below I will share a few tips on developing your self worth
There are plenty of ways in which you can boost your self-esteem and change to a more positive and healthy outlook about yourself,
here are some tips for developing and boosting your self-worth.

Eliminate negative self talk. Talk positively to your self, repeat affirmations and confessions to defuel negative thoughts and feelings.

Celebrate the positives. I share this tip in my eBook The Dynamic Power
of Focus
. Celebrate even the smalls achievements that you accomplish.
The participants of my Breakthrough 2010 Mentoring and Coaching program are
encouraged to do this intentionally.

Take time out for you. Never deprive yourself of something you enjoy.
Do something everyday that you enjoy, especially when you feel overwhelmed.
This allows room for creative and clarity of vision.

When you have opportunity to hear criticism from others, listen and learn from it, however, never take it to heart where you feel beat down or devalue yourself.

Realize that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. A unique one of a kind gift from Father God.

The next step is to take at least one thing from this post and apply to your
life. How can you use one thing before your head hits the pillow tonight.

It all begins with you!

Choose to live a big, bold, beautiful, delicious life "no apologies" today!

Who are you? The Woman Entrepreneur and personal branding

Who are you? Do your clients, customers recognize who you are? Would prospects recognize who you are and become immediately attracted to you? Or would they
turn away because there's nothing for them to identify with.

If you answered no or I don't know to the above it's time that you learned
more about personal branding.

Think about Johnson and Johnson, Pepsi,Joyce Meyer, Kelloggs they are all branded and all you have to do is say the word and people know exactly what you are talking about. Some more than others, however, there is branding involved.
So you may be asking how do I begin building my personal brand?

Personal branding is the process whereby people and their careers are
marked as brands. It has been noted that while previous self-help
management techniques were about self-improvement, the personal branding
concept suggests instead that success comes from self packaging. The term
is thought to have been first used and discussed in an 1997 article
by Tom Peters,

Your brand is how people think about you. Learning more about you,
self discovery and assessment is key in beginning the process of
personal branding. This process also involves developing your vision,
what makes you unique and how you can help others.

Your vision is like a compass a guiding light. It helps us to stay focused
on our goals and plans in life.

When taking on the endeavor to build your brand keep the following in mind....

It's important to consider how you communicate visually, verbally and
in writing. If you don't know you're actually branding yourself in your
blogging.

You also make it easier to develop your marketing plan when you build your
personal brand.

What makes you different or unique?
How would you say people describe you or better yet how do you describe yourself?

Do you know who your target market or audience is?
Some may consider this your niche. So very important and no it doesn't
cut off your reach in essence it expands it because instead of grasping for straws
you know where to put your focus.

It's also key to discover your why. Why do you do what you do?
What motivates you?
What sets you apart?
Do you have a creative angle to what you do?

If you want to accelerate the process towards your empowering success
it's important to start developing your personal brand.

Who are you? Start taking notes and write down your values, what you'd
like to do in life, how you'd like to be seen, what sets you apart and then
use some of this to develop your vision statement and
you'll be on your way to a definite brand of YOU inc.

Women Entrepreneur,WAHM,SAHM 2 C's for realized Maximum Empowerment

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow. Mary Ann Radmacher

Let’s face it we will all face challenges, disappointments, pain and possibly fear during our lifetime. Some of us handle it easier than others or at least we’ve learned some skills to take on our daily challenges and excel regardless of circumstances. I see many women who desire to lead empowered lives but lack the necessary keys to achieve this.

There are two things essential to anyone to manifest maximum empowerment and I call them the two C’s they are Confidence and courage. These are two power-houses that when a woman gets a grip on these she can just about accomplish anything she sets her mind to. Of course there are a few others just as essential but for now we’re going to focus on these two.

Courage is defined as mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. Yes! That’s what we need in the face of any challenge, danger, fear or difficulty we need to have mental or moral strength to venture, persevere and withstand. This is a learned skill, you don’t just get up one day and have this ability. What you must do is continue to face each situation with a determination to win! You build your courage each time you resist fainting, giving up or yielding to the pressure of the danger, fear or difficulty. You must have willpower.

Other things needed are to surround your self with positive people, keep positive thoughts, build self confidence and reignite your passion. There are other life skill sets that you can learn to facilitate courage in your life, I’ve given you a few to start with.

Now let’s talk about confidence and in this instance we’re going to refer to self confidence and it is defined as; confidence in oneself and in one's powers and abilities.
I’m not talking about arrogance as this is not a quality and you may not have too many friends or people that enjoy your company. This is what you must have to manifest maximum empowerment. This is the energy that will drive you along with courage to supersede everyone who does not have this quality. Self confidence will set you apart from others. You exude an aura that draws clients and customers towards you.

Even in your relationships you will notice that you have healthier relationships because you don’t have a need to front and always be in a mode of being pretentious because you are self confident. You know the qualities that you have, you know your purpose, you have a plan, goals, a vision and mission outlined. There’s something about a woman of confidence and you’ll know her when you see her.
Don’t worry if you don’t display this character yet, all you have to do is begin today .

Here are a few ways to boost your self confidence
Shift to a success mindset
Learn to love yourself
Begin practicing self talk
Get rid of the negatives
Surround yourself with people that lift you
Know that you are a one of a kind gift of God

When you step out with confidence and courage, there is no way you will yield to everyday circumstances and life’s challenges you are equipped and unstoppable, you are a woman with maximum empowerment.
